Deolali Camp is situated at a distance of 16 km from Nasik. It is one of the oldest and important military centres of India. The camp is surrounded by playgrounds, gardens and wide roads. It was originally established by the British in 1861 as the military psychiatric hospital. The other nearby places of attraction are; Temple Hill, Khandobachi Tekadi known for the temple of Lord Khandoba and the Deolali Market that is famous for selling unique items.
Bhagur is located at a distance of 3 km from the Deolali Camp. This historically important place is popularly known as the birthplace of Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, the freedom fighter. The popular temple of ‘Bhagur Devi’ is also situated in this place.
Takli is the place of saint Samarth Ramdas. He was the Guru (teacher) of Chatrapati Shivaji. Ramdas was a bramhachari (bachelor) all through his life. He promoted the Hindu religion and told people the importance of simple living and high thinking. Ramdas ran away from his marriage procession and settled down at Takli. He meditated here for 12 years. He was devotee of lord Ram and meditated with the words Shriram Jai Ram, Jai Jai Ram for 13 crores times. After such a long devotion, he left. Ramdas Swami’s ashram is preserved in his memory at Takli. There is also a beautiful Hanuman temple surrounded with greenery on the bank of river Nandini or Nasardi.
The Gondeshwar temple is a very beautiful temple built in the Hemadpanthi style of Architechture. During the Adilshahi rule in Maharastra, Ahmednagar was the capital. One of the pradhans (minister) of Ahmednagar was Hemadpanth who popularised a typical style of construction using locally available black stone and lime. This style became very popular and came to be known as the Hemadpanthi style. The Gondeshwar temple is one of the few structures of this style still in good shape.
Kalsubai Peak is the highest peak of the Sahyadris in Igatpuri Taluka, of Nashik district of Maharashtra, an Indian state. ‘Kalsubai’ temple is located at the topmost peak of Sahyadri mountain range of Maharastra. ‘Kalsubai’ temple is located at the topmost peak of Sahyadri mountain range of Maharastra. During the Navratri period, for all nine days, special poojas are carried out and idol is fully decorated. Special Mela (fair) is organized for Navratri. Local guides often accompany climbers to the summit.
Muktidham temple is situated in Nashik Road. Built by Late Shri JayramBhai Bytco, is magnificient peice of architucture, made with marble from Makran in Rajastan, and by Rajastani scluptors. Unique to this temple are eighteen chapters of Geeta written on the walls. You can also see the replicas of all the twelve Jyotirlingas over here and also icons of all major Hindu Gods and Godesses. After visiting this temple one gets a feeling of visiting all the four Dhams in India. This temple is situated at a distance of 8 km from Central Bus Stand.
Located at a panoramic place, Dudhsagar Waterfalls in Someshwar is regarded as one among the best in the entire world itself. This cascading falls is a favourite picnic spot in the city, which offers picture book scenery. The waterfalls reach its zenith during monsoon season when the cascade displays plenty of water in it. The 10-meter stretch of this cascade is often crowed with people. Another remarkable fact about this lovely falls is its creamy white water that got its name Dudhsagar. Carved steps on the rocks makes access to the top of this lovely spot easy.
The Laxmi Narayan Temple is located near the Swaminarayan bridge of Nashik. The temple is very close to Tapovan, the place where the brother of Shri Ram – Laxman had cut the nose of Shurpanakha, the sister of Ravana. The Laxmi Narayan Temple is a very colorful and eye catching temple. The temple has the idols of Lord Narayan and his wife, the Goddess of wealth Laxmiji. The temple is very clean, calm and gives peace of mind. The devotees who visit Tapovan, make it a point to stop at the Laxmi Narayan Temple for darshan.
Dugarwadi waterfall is one of the best natural waterfalls of Maharashtra. This impressive waterfall is only 30kms away from the wine city Nasik and 2km off the Jawahar Road. Very few people visit to Dugarwadi, that’s why it is very clean and unexplored. It is a great place to visit, especially in monsoon when you can enjoy pristine surroundings and lush greenery everywhere.

After reaching the place, you have to park vehicles near the road and a walk of 1-2 km is needed to reach at the exact place of waterfall. If you follow the river way then you will pass through the hills which will sure to offer you great scenery. While doing adventurous trek during monsoon, be careful as the water level may rise suddenly and you might get trapped into rushing waters. It is recommended to make group visit at Dugarwadi, because there is no security available and it is also a lonely place.
The scenic Navashya Ganapati temple is dedicated to Lord Ganapati/Vinayak. It is located at 6km from the CBS, on the way to Someshwar or Gangapur dam in Nashik. The temple is just next to the river Godavari and is a ‘Jagrut Devasthan’. It is fondly called as Navashya ganapati since the Ganapati here answers to the offerings in prayers (navas) of his devotees. The Navashya Ganapati temple is believed to be built around 300-400 years ago by the Peshwas. Raghoba Peshava and his wife Anandibai have built it in the year 1774. The Navashya Ganapati idol is saffron in color and its eyes are very lively. The temple also has replica idols of all the Ashtavinayaka.
